Pet Portrait Size Guide

The following sizes are available for your custom pet portrait. Each size is designed to fit a specific number of subjects. The number of pets that can be included depends on their size and composition. For example, smaller animals like rabbits and cats may allow for more subjects due to their smaller size. If you’re unsure which size would be best for your pets or commission, please don’t hesitate to contact me—I’d be happy to help you choose the perfect size!

  • 12×24” (Horizontal): Ideal for 3-4 subjects. The elongated horizontal shape provides ample space for multiple pets, making it perfect for a group portrait.
  • 16×20” : Suitable for up to 3 subjects. Offers more vertical space, allowing for a larger singular portrait or space for up to three pets depending on their size and positioning. This size is also perfect for commissions wanting scenic backgrounds as there is space for a large subject as well as the background.
  • 12×12” (Square): This is one of the most popular sizes for singular pet portraits and personally my favorite! The square format offers a balanced, symmetrical look that’s great for capturing all the unique details of your pet’s face or upper body. It’s perfect for a focused, highly-detailed portrait.
  • 11×14” (Vertical): This size allows for a larger, singular portrait, including full-body portraits. It offers more space than the 12×12” and works wonderfully for pets you want to showcase in their entirety. It also works well for double portraits as it is wide enough for a pair but also has height for larger animals.
  • 8×10” & 10×10” (Square/Vertical): Best for one subject only. They are more affordable options than the 12×12” and are perfect for solo portraits where you want to focus on your pet’s personality and character in a more compact format.
  • 8×8” (Square): This mini size is intended for close-up portraits of one subject only. Ideal for showcasing the fine details of your pet’s face.
